    About Me

There's not really a lot to say about me. I'm a pretty simple person. I'm a mother of three; Arielle, Randy and Kaity. Arielle is making me a grandma at 34, which is a little bit of a freak-out. I've got the best guy in the world, and I'm definitely not looking to replace or substitute him. Why tamper with perfection? So, throw in my Will and his little girl, Alex, and you have a big, crazy mix of people I love dearly. I'm an optician / optometric technician for a local doctor's office. Occasionally, I find a chance to breathe, but it isn't often. My extended family and music are the only things that mean very much to me. All else is just fluff.

Music I looked to the heavens and I saw god and his name was Dave...

I like most kinds of music. It really depends on my mood. Anything from jazz to celtic to hardcore metal and just about anything in between. My faves are:

    Stone Sour
    HIM
    Marillion
    Joe Satriani
    Eric Johnson
    Randy Rhoads
    Adrian Belew
    Suicide City
    Brian Setzer
    Slipknot
    Tool (Maynard!) & Perfect Circle
    Al DiMeola
    Dave Matthews
    Bel Canto
    Cradle of Filth
Ozzy (my son is named after Randy Rhoads)
    Megadeth
    The Rasmus
    Hank 3
    Eagle Eye Cherry
    Bronx Casket Society
    November Doom
    Lamb of God
    Type O Negative
    Rammstein
    Billie Holliday
    Toad the Wet Sprocket
    Tea Party
    The Tragically Hip
    Pink Floyd
    Chris Isaac
Revis (hey! that's my maiden name!!!)
    Jimi Hendrix
    NightWish
    Inkubus Sukkubus
    Lacuna Coil
    Depeche Mode...

As I said, I have very broad musical tastes, although my preferrence usually runs along the harder stuff. I basically just really love music. It makes my world a much better place.
New favorites... Thank you for broadening my musical horizons, Will!!! You've introduced me to some great stuff, as well as reminded me of some old faves.

    Black Lab
    Primitive Radio Gods
Alabama 3 (think Sopranos theme song...)
The Wreckers (thanks for feeding my not-so-secret country habit...)

    Movies

Obviously, anything with vampires. Lost Boys being the fave of those. I also absolutely LOVE The Crow and have a huge collection of Crow stuff. Anything with Jason Statham in it. Mean Machine, Snatch, Lock, Stock... I hate chick flicks. I'd much rather see something with a lot of action or stuff blowing up. Some of my other favorite movies are Fight Club, LOTR, Harry Potter (ok, so I'm a geek, too), Blazing Saddles, Monty Python (anything), Blade, XXX (so sue me), Top Gun, Office Space, Bound, War Party... I have a lot of movies I love and can't remember to list right now. Just don't make me watch some sappy crap that is going to make me cry, 'kay? "Kay. So long and thanks for all the fish! (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy rules, so there!!!) Yes, it is official. I am a sci-fi, gamer geek. Get over it!

    TV

Who has time for television in a rock n roll world? lol... But I do love old British comedy, Discovery Channel, cartoons, medical, forensics, tattoo and car shows. When I have time, which is nearly never. I'd rather be doing something with music, exploring haunted places, etc. We usually watch dvds of X-Files and Family Guy when eating between running around to our various stations and bouts of video games. Who needs tv when you have a DS???

    Books

History, philosophy, mythology, science fiction/fantasy... Piers Anthony's Xanth series.

Deepak Chopra... Whatever catches my fancy at the moment. Basically, I just love to read. I like to have my mind stimulated.

    Likes

My family and friends, body art, music, cars, The Crow, yoga, horror and sci-fi movies, pin-ups, Bettie Page, guitars ( I have a 1979 Gretsch BST, an Ibanez JS100 Satriani custom autographed to me from Joe Satriani and an Applause acoustic/electric), dragons, penguins, video games, vampires... Pretty simple, huh? I am generally a pretty quiet person, but I do absolutely love music and taking my daughter to concerts. She is my best buddy and partner in crime. I love muscle cars, classic hot-rods, and VW Bugs. I want a doggie! And I am a hellagood cook (but I hate to do the dishes).

Dislikes Deliberate ignorance, people with narrow minds and hearts, liver and onions and beets.
Hobbies Yoga, bodyart, music, reading, video games, sci-fi, going to Lake Ella with my kids... My family is my biggest hobby.
Vices I would have to say Will is my only vice. And maybe chocolate. Oh, and caffeine.
    Virtues Patience.
Heroes My mother for all she deals with every day of her life and never loses her beautiful heart and smile. And my babies... Arielle (16), Randy (12) and Kaity (10). (that makes me 34 years old)

Linus Torvalds (extra credit for anybody who knows who that is)

And Will for being my best friend, strongest supporter, sunshine on the darkest day, and keeper of my dreams. I love you, beautiful blondie boy.

    baby's first picture

    Friday, May 18, 2007, 05:25 PM [General]

Ok, not feeling as nervous anymore.  We had an ultrasound yesterday, and everything looked good.  The baby was even waving, and we got to hear the heartbeat.  So, here is baby's first picture!

    what a dummy...

    Sunday, May 6, 2007, 11:16 AM [General]

I was sick Wednesday night/ Thursday morning and slept through my ob appointment!!!  I woke up half an hour after I was supposed to be there.  My poor boyfriend didn't wake me because he'd forgotten what time my appointment was for and wanted to let me sleep since I'd been up most of the night.  We were going to have an ultrasound to make sure of the dates and also to make sure everything is progressing properly.  Now we have to wait two more weeks to get in.  Ugh, what a dummy...

    the verdict is in...

    Friday, April 20, 2007, 09:15 PM [General]

I went to the doctor yesterday, and they are estimating my due date as December 13th.  The reason we have to estimate is that I had a miscarriage March 7, but I never had a period afterward.  The midwife thinks I may have ovulated a day or so after it because my hormone levels bottomed out so quickly.  So, instead of a November 4 baby, we'll have a December 13.  We are hoping upon hope that this one stays in there like it is supposed to do.  Actually, Daddy keeps saying it'll be twins.  We do have them in my family, so, I guess we'll have to wait and see on that.  We could use all the positive energy possible, though.  So, please send a spare thought to our little one to help it grow.

          Namaste,

    ok, here we go...

    Saturday, April 14, 2007, 09:33 AM [General]

I've finally gotten around to creating my page.  I'm not sure when my friend, Chas, sent it to me, but I've finally gotten it done!  Hooray for me!  I believe this is where I am supposed to tell folks who I am, so, here goes...

First off, if you don't know me, my name is Wanda, although some people call me bunny or mousie.  I suppose I have an affinity for animals.  Or maybe I'm just smalll and squeaky??  I'm from Tallahassee, Florida, and I'm still there.  At least until I can find a way to escape.  I'd love to live at the base of a mountain with snow and flowing water and fields of flowers growing wild.  I have three beautiful children; Arielle (16), Randy (12) and Kaity (10).  Arielle is actually about to make me a grandmother at 34, which is scary enough in and of itself, but moreso since my boyfriend, Will, and I found out this week we are having one of our own.  So our child will have an aunt that is about 7 months older.  He also has an 18 month old little girl, Alex, that is with us half-time.  She is an adventure all of her own as she figures out she can reach everything, and she usually pulls it down on top of her.  We also have two big doggies in the house, a Siberian Husky named Moira (aka Fluffbutt or WooWoo), and an I'm-not-sure-what-she-is-but-she-looks-like-a-dingo named KeyKey (aka Dingo-dog or Doodles).  The kids call Moira WooWoo because that is what it sounds like when she barks.  I consider myself a natural witch, and I don't follow a set path.  I come from a long line of "crafty" women who weren't "practicing witches" but always seemed to have herbal remedies, ghosts, and premonitions.  My mother's family is Irish and Cherokee, so, maybe that brings out the natural abilities?  They're very "earthy" people, although I was the first one to ever be called a witch.  Since then, several others have followed suit and are embracing a more natural path.

Anyway, that is just a little bit about me.  It is time to begin the day of errands.

             Namaste,

                  Wanda
